Are three mandates in the EU elections and less than 20 percent of votes a success for SDP?
We expect to win at least the same number of votes as in the previous European elections five years ago; such an election result could stabilize our party. Let us remember the context of the elections of that time. The SDP was in power, and the party's perception in public was better than it is today. As a coalition, we won four terms. The same number of votes, excluding those obtained by other coalition members, is three SDP seats. I believe such a result is possible because the party has a focus on the program - the values ??and policies we represent. Our program is made up of 19 points and I believe that by highlighting the right ones, we will be able to win over citizens who believe in the EU and believe in the SDP.
But how much does the current situation in SDP inspire you?
Traveling through Croatia, I can see that in some places the party is in bad shape, but I also see how successful SDP is in other places and the motivation of our membership and sympathizers to go to the polls is high. So, despite the few stumbles of leadership, we managed to partly avoid the crisis of membership and sympathizers' confidence, from which we need to learn.
