HDZ should ask itself what are they doing in the filofascist company of Tajani and Orban

MEP Tonino Picula, had the highest number of preferential votes in the 2013 and 2014 elections, and he is the leader of SDP list at this year's elections. For Novi list he talks about the results of work in the European Parliament and what he expects from the future. convocation

On what basis can the work of an European representative be evaluated?

We all know that perception is often more important than reality, but MEPs in the European Parliament can be evaluated on the basis of their quite specific performance, achievement of the projects they have advocated, or whether they have managed to finance and realize it on the benefit of citizens who are elected.

In Brussels you are in a much more favorable position than MEPs in Parliament. They are constantly exposed publicly and they cannot talk lies about their work, and about 11 Croatian MEPs in the European Parliament we hear and know mostly from you. You can, therefore, talk fairy tales about yourself.

That is not correct, work we do as MEPs is still very verifiable. For example, I have strugled for a specific thing: 12 million EUR for people living in Croatia on some of the 50 inhabited islands. Those 12 million for the energy transition are not a fairy tale, but a very concrete thing. Then there is my commitment that the new mechanisms protect not only the Schengen border, but the whole external border of the European Union, that include Croatia, is also not a fairy tale. As well as my efforts to return, after Croatia's withdrawal from CEFTA, the traditional way and volume of trading with BiH.

Yes, but that is what you say that you have contributed.

"I believe that you have internet in your newsroom, so you can check, on the web pages of the European Parliament, as well as from other sources, if this what I am saying is true or not. In general, it is very important are you enterin the European Parliament with a clear knowledge and clear vision what you want, or only with misty assumptions about European institutions. It was a great help for me to come to the European Parliament in 2013 withwealthy political experience, not only for government work, but also for local self-government, since I was the mayor of Velika Gorica. It may not be enough to know that before the entry into the European Parliament, I had a serious duty as Vice-chair of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. All of this has contributed to making use of the opportunities offered to me in the European Parliament, of course, to the extent that was possible."
