Picula nominated Scouts Association of Croatia for the European citizen's Prize

SDP's MEP Tonino Picula nominated the Croatian Scout Association for the European Citizen's Prize, which the European Parliament gives every year to projects and initiatives that contribute to European cooperation and the promotion of common values.

"The World as it Should Be" - this was the motto of the International gathering held by the Croatian Scout Association last summer which brought together 1,300 young people from Croatia and the world. This is also their daily and life motto because they help in creating a better world by building independent, responsible and committed people, who have a constructive role in the society. I have nominated them because they continue contributing to the education of children and young people and help shaping individuals into responsible citizens and members of local, national and international community", said Picula clarifying his nomination.

The Scout Association of Croatia is the largest organization for children and young people in Croatia and is the heir of the 100-year tradition of scouting in Croatia that brings together 67 local Scouting Associations and up to 3500 members. Apart from Croatia, scouts from Belgium, France, Israel, Slovenia and Macedonia participated in the international festival.
