"Croatia has a lot to offer. Not only are we the newest member, but we have the most recent membership negotiation experience, which is a long and complex process. In order for Croatia to be successful, it must convince other Member States that the enlargement to the Western Balkans is good for the whole EU, which will be extremely difficult.
However, Croatia has no choice because as we have heard from Prime Minister Plenković, who has divided the priorities of the Croatian Presidency of the EU Council into four groups: a Europe that develops, Europe that connects, Europe that protects and Europe that is influential, it all has to do with the basic project: will there be any kind of breakthrough in the enlargement policy, that is currently blocked. The success of these four elements of the Croatian presidency will not be possible unless a new momentum in the enlargement policy towards the Western Balkans happens", MEP Picula said for N1 television.
