MEP Picula met with President Milo Đukanović

Three-day visit to Montenegro as standing EP rapporteur for Montenegro, Picula ended with a meeting with President Milo Đukanović.

Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović met with standing rapporteur of the European Parliament for Montenegro Tonino Picula, during his offical visit to Montenegro. President Đukanović congratulated MEP Picula on his re-election as Member of the European Parliament and the duties of rapporteur for Montenegro and rapporteur for recommendations for the Western Balkans, saying that it is very good that the rapporteur for Montenegro is a good connoisseur of his neighbor Montenegro, as well as entire region.

"Alongside my continuous support for Montenegro on its European path, I emphasized that due to changed circumstances burdening the EU, the enlargement policy will become more complex and the accession negotiations more demanding. Today, I also spoke with representatives of the Montenegrin media, NGOs and business associations. They informed me about the open problems that are polarizing Montenegrin society and burdening their activities. I will use the impressions collected in Podgorica and Tivat to work on the documents on the situation in Montenegro during this year", MEP Picula said.
