As a result of that, MEP Tonino Picula sent a question to the European Commission, wanted do draw attention to this problem and required an adequate response.

"What measuers does the Commission plan to revise measures encouraging beekeepers by awarding incentives per bee community in order to contribute to pollination and preservation of biodiversity?" - was the question I posed to European Commision. Mr. Hogan answered me that the assistance is implemented through national program, Croatia can be granted support for maintaining or improving the environment for bees, in context of EU rural development programmes. Therefore, there is hope, means are at our disposal and all we have to do is to use them", said MEP Picula, stating that for the period from 2014 to 2016 33 million and 100 thousand euros are provided for the beekeping sector and for Croatia it is an amount of 3,181,266 euros.
