MEP Picula stressed that in 2016. BiH needs "to work on future political, electoral and constitutional reforms that will Would shape into a functional and efficient State based on the principles of federalism, subsidiarity, equality and equality of all its peoples and citizens."
In amendments MEP Picula calls to adapt the trade benefits granted in the framework of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, including its adaptation as an important element of the commitments to the EU, and one of the prerequisites for a successful evaluation of candidacy for EU membership.
He also calls for additional measures in terms of returning of property.
In terms of air pollution in Slavonski Brod, he called for further efforts on the issues of cross-border environmental pollution, and calls on the BiH authorities to address the problem of cross-border air pollution due to the operation of the refinery in Bosanski Brod.
He warned that stronger measures to deal with radicalisation and terrorism are needed and called for carrying out the statutory obligations of the editing and broadcasting of programmes in all the official languages.
"As the Head of the Delegation of the EP for Relations with BiH, I am very sorry for the failed constitution of Joint parliamentary bodies of the Assembly and the EP, but we could not allow the attempt to transfer of procedure provisions that include an ethnic census into joint rules". He expressed hope that at the next meeting in June they will adopt common rules of procedure and contribute to the common goal-the European future of BiH.
