A conference on Croatia’s branding was held today as part of the “Croatia that we need” conference. Croatian MEP Tonino Picula participated in the panel discussion about defining Croatia’s new foreign policy.
"In contrast to earlier times, Croatia has an image of European country today, but that is not enough in the period when the European Union itself is changing. We need to answer about added value of our membership. Because of its multiple regional affiliation, Croatia needs to lead a more integrative foreign policy For example, we are the only country that directly connects the Danube region and the Mediterranean but also the only member that borders with three countries in the process of EU accession. Croatia needs to overcome prejudices of others about us, but we also have to reject our prejudices about others" said mr. Picula who participated in the panel discussion "Croatia and the World - Defining the New Croatian Foreign Policy", together with Mr. Ivo Josipović, Mato Granić, Ivan Šimonović and Mrs. Marija Pejčinović Burić.
